Voting in Upper Chichester

May 18 election day!
The next election in Pennsylvania is a primary election on May 18, 2021. State and local elections will be on the ballot. In Pennsylvania, U. S. Citizens who will be 18 or older on election day may vote in the election held that day. Pennsylvania is a swing state, and it is essential that we vote for Democratic candidates up and down the ballot.

If You Have Trouble Voting

If you are denied the opportunity to vote at your polling place or feel intimidated walking into your polling place, who do you call?
  • Delaware County Democrats Election Protection team — 610-566-6427; press 1.
  • Delaware County Bureau of Elections — 610-891-VOTE (8683).
  • 1-877-VotesPA (1-877-868-3772) is a PA Department of State hotline that will be staffed on Election Day.

Mail-In Ballots

The deadline to request mail-in ballots is approaching. Requests for mail-in or absentee ballots must be received by your county election office by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2021.

Mail-in ballots must be received by your county election office by 8:00 pm on May 18, 2021. Postmarks are not enough

If you still physically have your mail-in ballot, do not depend on the U.S. Postal Service to deliver it on time. Plan to deliver it yourself in person as soon as you can.

Be sure to read and carefully follow the instructions that come with your mail-in ballot, so that it's not rejected on a technicality. Be sure to use both the inner secrecy envelope and the outer mailing envelope and to sign the Voter’s Declaration on the outer envelope.

Registering to Vote

To vote in the upcoming election, you must register by May 11, 2021.

Checking Your Registration

It's wise to check the status of your voter registration. The Pennsylvania Department of State's website lets you check.
